Pre-Debt Registration


Having the ability to obtain intelligence is a key building block for improving performance, and the benefit of identifying cases requiring investigation at the earliest opportunity provides a clear focus in the recovery program.

Account segregation is a concept which utilises a combination of datasets, (credit information, postcode-income data, electoral roll information and much more) at the point in the processing cycle where it really counts; at the beginning.

Adopting account segregation into workflow enables us to identify more than 50% of all cases that eventually fall into negative categories at an early stage, providing the ability to instruct the trace division immediately, maximizing the benefit from this effective resource. This streamlines the process and returns more viable cases to the recovery program with address or target intelligence supporting more focused enforcement action and ultimately improving performance. Such screening or targeting means that Bailiffs are always focused on the best quality work, which again enhances results.

By using a combination of unique datasets, Controlaccount is in a position to apply more focused activity into the enforcement flow-path, having a positive effect on performance, by:

  • Identifying ‘gone away’ cases early in the process, improving the number of traced cases returned to the field
  • Reducing Local Authority costs
  • Establishing reasons for ‘No Contact’ supplying more intelligence to field operatives and reducing the number of negative cases returned to the Council

In pre-debt registration, cases where new address information is obtained or where residence is confirmed are identified and returned electronically for progressing to warrant stage. For cases which are identified as “gone away” Controlaccount provide the ability to move such accounts through to a trace and collect module.
